My appologies Jessica if i had missed you in the marine section. I do make an effort ot answer as many posts as possible and to read all if possible.
) I do hope you found the advice given to you to be of some help.
OK as far as you tank is at present. Adding shrimps or any invert for that matter is a tiny bioload for the liverock and really wont add much to assist the bacteria in sustaining their population. This is why a marine invert tank can pack corals/shrimps/crabs ect tightly with no impact on the bioload whatsoever.
I would add a small fish.. perhaps a small goby or firefish.. just to keep the bioload stable and fed with ammonia (marine fish constantly breath out ammonia).
There is no need to go out and get loads of fish of course, just a small on e for now that is a good beginner fish and will pose no real problems for you in keeping it.
