My Loach Is Missing!

Someone please help!! I have had my 55 gallon tank setup for a while now and we had 2 dojo loaches (along with other tank mates) for months and theb outa the blue one of them just vanished. The surviving loach was fine but we decided to get him another friend so we got a kuhli loach and he has been hiding a lot but we saw him from time to time. I haven't seen the kuhli for days now so I pulled out all the decorations and plants leaving just the gravel, and searched all in the filter...no sign of him. We have a hood but I still looked behind and underneath the tank and still no sign...its like he vanished just like the other dojo loach....the only thing I can think of is that my cat is fishing while i'm notlwatching, but she has never shown any interest in the tank at all since we set it up....i'm at a loss and I love my loaches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tank mates include: 2 golden gouramis
2 breeding angelfish
2 rainbow sharks
2 cherry barbs
1 pleco
1 loach left standing....swimming LOL
P.S.- We still have seen no sign of the missing dojo loach and its been months now, the kuhli has been missing for a couple days. Water condition is fine, we had it checked to be sure something in the water didn't cause it to die. The last idea I had was to completely empty the tank and find out where this little guy is, but I don't want to harm any of my other fish.....I just can't imagine where these two loaches could have disappeared to...

i had this happen to 2 tiger barbs, i looked everywere no sign of them, still have no idea, was in a group of 10 barbs, 2 went missing both green, 2-4 of the greens i had disapeared. no idea srry for ur loss mate i tink they wee sick or someting and got eaten :0!

only idea is that if it had died or was killed the sharks and plec May have quickly devoured them. If your to buy your loach a friend i suggest another doJo as loachs make friends with their own kinds rather well. I only buy loach's in two's when i get them got 4 zebra loach now 2 fatty's which i have had for 3 years and 2 smaller for 1 year. Hope you find the problem, but as i said the only chance is the rainbow sharks or they could possible be wedged in the smallest gap in one of your ornaments or wood. Good luck

Holy crap!!!!!!!!! The kuhli made an appearance this morning!!!! I stayed up so late just watching the tank in the dark waiting for that little guy to come out!!!! Ok next question......how well can they burry themselves in the gravel?....cuz i took everything out and inspected them all to make sure he wasn't up inside any of the decor.... and while doin that I noticed one snail...how in the hell did I get snails in my tank?? LOL

Lol I thought it would hide underground X))
Snails - probably from plants. I remember long ago that my live food bloodworms came with some tiny snails. Maybe that's how they got in there.

Kuhli loaches like to burrow and hide. They are nocturnul but mine swim about in the day. I have got 8 but dont ever see all of them at same time. Sometimes see 6 at once during feeding time.
