Hey, I just went to the fish store a couple days ago and got a trio of guppies. I had them in my five gallon tank but moved them to a more furnished 4.5 gallon. After about a day, I found little babies in my old five gallon. After looking at many pictures across the net, I identified them as guppies(I had aqua frogs and other livebearers that I moved.) It was a total surprise to me as I have not been ready for this. Here's my problem, in my five gallon, the filtering system's net is not small enough to prevent babies from being sucked in. And, I am failing and scared to catch the guppies and put them into a net... any suggustions?

What about a pair of tights over the filter.

uh oh... the guppy that gave birth without me knowing is having some weird RED thing coming out of the anus. Even though it isn't completely detached. I could kinda tell that it was not a baby... The guppy is in a community tank... and... ya.

I would remove her straight away, does it look like a worm.

more info:
the female guppy's "worm" is falling apart and shredding...

Camallanus are red worms that can be seen protruding from the anus of the fish, especially after eating and when the fish is at rest. From what I’ve seen, livebearers and Gourami seem to be the most susceptible to it. It is very difficult to treat and multiplies using an invertebrate as a host. Destroy infected fish and medicate to (hopefully) kill hosts and larvae. (or you can tear down your tank, sterilize your equipment, and start over). If you leave exposed fish in the tank, wait a few months before adding new fish.

the worm is gone now... It just like... detached and went to the filter. I witnessed the went to the filter part.

Is it dead, i would of netted it out, i would issolate her as she has internal parasites and she will infect the whole tank, if not already.

I seperated her... tried to feed her but she lost her apetite... I'm giving her an hour before I feed her again. She hasn't been fed today yet. If she doesn't eat... what should I do?

okay... now that she's in a seperate tank... I need help on figuring out how to treat the previous aquarium and possibly the fish itself... there are still more red stuff coming out of the anus...

EDIT: Now it's trying to jump out of the new tank...

You will need an internal parasite med, like clout or something, but internal worms are very hard to cure.
