My kribs have laid eggs today, what do I do?? they are in a 5ft tank and have laid eggs in a little urn on 1 corner of the tank. I'm really pleased they've laid eggs but I've been told they will be extremely aggressive :dunno: I was told I could take the urn out of the tank (in a tub of water so not to get air to the eggs) and put the urn in a tank of its own and have a filter just slightly moving them. I have no idea what to do can someone please help?

is this the first time they've laid? i wouldn't worry about it in that instance; shine a flashlight on them and most the time they'll eat the eggs. :p

if you're actually wanting to raise the fry... i've got a 4' and so far the only thing they tried to kill was each other. other than that the male has mostly contented himself with just chasing the other fish away if they venture more than a foot from his brood. i think mine can recognize which fish pose the greatest threat; now that the fry are a half-centimeter long, he ignores the guppies/platies and just chases the large tetras and paradise fish.

thanks pica, they are right at the front of the tank and when I go near to look they just look at me. I don't know if this is the first time they have bred or not as I've only had them for about 6 weeks. there doesn't look like theres loads of eggs but I can see a few :D

Hi, do you mean take the kribs out or the betta? My betta lives up the top of the tank in the leaves of my onion plant
