my guppy

hiya ftx :D

couldn't see the first pic - :dunno: wouldn't let me. In the 2nd one the female definately looks pregnant but looks as though she still has a wee while before she drops her fry.

With mine they get very box-like.....huge tummies that look like they will pop and are very square. They seem to get quieter for the last couple of days as well - and hang out in the back of the tank or where it is a bit quieter and darker.

can you post some pics of your guppies in the aquarium pics section of the forum?

sue :D

how long would you say untill she drops my count is either 16 or 15 days left or 9 or 8 im not too sure on that but i need help wiith it please
ps im sorry that im asking all these questions and not helping anyone else out but i just have a huge stress on this first batch of fry because ive never had them in my life im really jumpy but my apologies also keyword for me: NEWBIE :hyper:

hi again ftx :D

hey don't apologise......we were all newbies once and there is nothing so exciting as the first babies born in the tank

I've posted a couple of pics in the fishie pictures section on the forum.....these were taken about 20 mins before the guppy gave birth.......am sorry they are very dark but can't use the flash on the tank.....it's acrylic and there's too much flash back.

My guppies stay pregnant for anything from 21 to 28 days.....the odd fish seems to go even longer. A lot depends on the age of the fish and her health........the very young and the very old go longer between drops. Feeding 2 times daily with a variety of foods, frequent w/changes and a temp of 78 - 80 degrees seem to stimulate them to birthing every 21 or so days.

don't forget.......keep asking questions :D it's the only way you can find these things out :D
