My female guppy lookes like she was gonna blow last night. So i put her in my net breeder, and when i woke this morning she still hadn't released. I even did things to help ease her: change 20% of the water, gave her good food, and turned up the temp to 80 degrees. she still hasnt given birth.
should i put one of my small neon tetra's in the net breeder with her?
any suggestions?

also, once she has the babies, how long does she go for? because i dont want to take her out of the net breeder, thinking that she is done, then have her lay fry in the main area of my tank.
any answers?
thanks and please respond A.S.A.P.

She probably hasn't released because she is completely stressed out in a breeder net. She might take a few days to release her fry. Or she might die from the stress of being put in a box.

If there are a lot of plants in the tank I would just let the guppy give birth in the main tank. Thats the easiest on the guppy. You will probably lose most of the fry that way but if you don't have another tank to use as a fry tank and try to keep the fry in a breeder net they will probably end up being stunted from the small size of the net. Preferably (if you plan on breeding guppies a lot) a breeder tank should be used. Just a separate tank to raise the fry in.

Also (not to be a bother) your tank is too small for an angelfish and if it gets to full size it could possibly eat the guppies.

no, the angel is only an inch, and it hasnt grown much since i got him amonth ago.
and btw one time my swordtail suprised me and had babies overnight in my main part of the tank (i didnt have a net breeder then)without me knowing, and i went o look at my tank and i noticed that she did not have a gravid spot anymore, i looked aroun and saw one fry survivor, and 5 min. later he was eaten. i did have plants at the time, but all of the fry were eaten.

I leave my pregnant fish in the main tank, loaded with tons of plants and caves, and let them drop in there. I put the breeder net into the tank to have it ready, and watch for them to start dropping fry. I net them as fast as I can as they come and place them in the breeder net. This method takes alot of time as far as watching and being patient, catching the fry and so on. But I always save 98% of the fry. One or two may get eaten, but the females are more comfortable dropping the babies in the main tank with no restrictions. :)

wouldnt that put a lot of stress on the mother that is already having babies, and put hei in shock causing her to stop laying fry?

Your best bet is to take her out of the breeder net or she will die of stress.
You may be lucky and save a few fry after birth.
