My Guppy Disappeared.

I wake up this morning to find my yellow guppy VAINSHED. He wasnt in the fliter. He didnt jump out. I saw no dead body parts/remains. I dug through the gravel. what could have happened?

I had a fish (mountain minnow) that did the exact same thing awhile ago. My suspicion was that the lil guy got eaten as he was the only fish of a different specie's as the LFS accidentally gave me the wrong fish and it was awhile before I noticed and by then the LFS wouldn't take him back...I never found a skeleton or anything though.
 
I would be interested to find out what people think happened.

I would suggest that sadly if he has passed away the fish in the tank may well have consumed him over night.

One of my Platy dissapeared for a day - and considering it was the weakest, I assumed it dead.
You never know, it might pop back up eventually,
or it might have died and unfortunatly been eaten. ):
