are swimming around alot together side by side i only bought them this morning but i think they may be mating what do you think?

Yep, it's possible and highly probable as long as you have both male and females...

It's also a good time to seprate the sexes if it's not too late. Guppies become sexually mature at 3months so they've probably been doing "it" for awhile now. But fry having fry isn't a good thing, ESPECIALLY if they got pregnant from a close relative or their brother(more deformities and weaknesses created). The stress alone would kill a young female so try to seprate them until, say the female is atleast 5-6 months old so she can handle it better.

That same thing happened to me! My 4 month old male guppy was starting to breed with the younger females, so I released him into my main tank. I would wait until the guppies are around 6 months old to start breeding them.
