They are a separate fish they are about molly sized but coloured and appear much like platies but their bodies are longer, and they are bigger- the males have a sword for a tail.
Very very beautiful fish. Mine female is bright orange, the male is black with a green shimmer and a yellow tail.
I like the sound of that male sword! Congrats on the upcoming fry! I am looking to get a few new swords, my lfs has had some swords that were mostly white with some green and a pinkish colored striping.
I love that colour!!! I had one, he was the father of the two young 'uns Ive got now he was that colour but unfortunately he died when I went on holiday...I was so upset!
But Ive got the black one now who is very pretty. I love the female as she lookes so trim and neat...I dont know if you know what I mean, but her fins are perfect, she is all rounded...I just love the look of her.
