Here's my goldie tank, of course come picture size they both run for cover.
There in a 25 G high.
:look:
I compensate the lack of surface area buy using two aquaclear filters and a Pro 1 powerhead that pumps 260G per hour skimming across the surface. :D
I'm pretty sure there's enough O2 in there for them.

I'm not sure Mac daddy, But I know I've had this fancy tail for about 2 years and it's no bigger than 3 inches (not including its tail).

I know, my little baby is only 1 year 3 month old. When I tell everyone that he's still a baby they say no he's not, and when I tell them that they can live for up to 60 years, they just laugh.

Did you keep it in a small tank at any point?

I've seen fancy tails up to 5inchs long so i know they can get that long but im no goldfish expert and im sure theres different breeds just as there are color variations.
By the way, nice goldy tank ;) B)

nice tank! do they not eat the plants? mine devour plants!

the largest fancy (oranda) i saw was about a foot and a half long (tail included)
and he was only $28 at the lfs!

Fella

He was in a 10 G tank for awhile, but he's not stunted if thats what your getting at. :D

He's a fancy calico, his body is about 3 inches and his tail approx 2.5 inches.

I have plants in the tank goldies wont eat, java fern, java moss, anubius, and val.

I do have a big red tiger lotus I just put in there last week, but I have several that size and bigger, so I'm not too worried if they eat it.
In the foreground I have some pygmy chain sword and dwarf sag, I'm going to see if it will take off in 74 degree water with a Ph of 7.5. "before" they eat it all. :/

Thanks for the comments guys. :D
