EDIT* I really want to start a pond!! right now i have a 30(*i think) gallon pond but no filtration and its cracked really bad on the side. do you think that aquarium sealent could hold the plastic together? if so how would i go about doing that?????? or is there another way i could fix the crack, its from the brim about 6 inches down..

Fibre glass would be the best to repair pre-formed ponds. do the repair on the outside of the pond so that you don't have to worry about the look of the job.

fiberglass repair kit includes a bandage and 2 compounds sort of like bodge for a car,if in doubt why not use pvc weld and a scrap of liner then to be double sure once youve sunk the pond just add a liner,im mainly a pond person though i do have a few tropical so im mainly in this part of the forum, but yep replies are fast ,i saw your post go up hence the fast reply, good luck with the pond if you decide to go ahead

nice :D

i will never understand people complaining about goldfish in a heated tank tho...
how warm do ya think the pond gets in the summer? ;)

i think the problem starts when people keep em in a tank with tropicals that require a slightly higher temp than is the norm, goldfish arnt suited to the water temp and suffer becouse of it,ponds do get warm but becouse your talking about a large volume of water it doesnt affect them as much, plus the temp varies in a pond in a tank its constant
