I am no where new good with goldfish so call me stupid if you must, but can someone please tell me what kind of goldfish I have? and what thier gender is?

The first video shows a possible Comet Goldfish. I say this because of the slender body. The second video is most certainly a Comet goldfish. As for whether they are male or female. A male goldfish will get white pimple like spots on his gill covers.

Sexing Goldfish. Take a look at that link, it has pictures! :good:

I agree with *Fishkies* and the sexing is the only way to tell, but the first is a common gold fish.

Plus the link dose work as i just checked it.

The first one looks like a lemon goldfish(same as regular, just a different colour) but i could be wrong

the second one is almost certainly a comet.

i researched comet goldfish and niether of mine look like a comet.. so how do u get that one is a comet?

Because a comet goldfish is a regular goldfish that generally has a more slender body, and always has a longer tail fin (though other fins can be longer in addition).

Nice fish, I wish I could keep goldfish again - I would happily dedicate a larger tank for them but I don't have the space (or the money for another tank atm) :shout: .

The first is a canary goldfish and the second a comet. The comet could be stunted hence the longer looking fins than normal as i can see the tail fin is bent and hasnt grown properly.

Could also be a bit of mixing of types in the fishes line of breeding as it reminds me of a butterfly koi or a veiltail fantail.

there's no possible way he's stunted.. he's been on the 55 gallon since we've had him....

lol, of course he can be stunted. Comets need plenty of room and you might be surprised to know this, but they should be in ponds with goldfish. Mine have 200 gallons each. I have one sarassa thats a year old and already 8 inches long.

How old is he and how long is the main body of him?

At 4 years he should be fully grown nearly, so at least 8 inches. Some grow to over a foot
