Evening...

I've included a picture of my two male Golden Rams..the recent addition to my 120L tank.
Couldn't find a pic of other hobbyists, especially those who have taken the step up from Tetra and Corys!

Wow they are beautiful!! I have a Bolivian Ram but he doesn't compare to these beauties wow!!! Nice post! I never even knew these existed!

Thank you Termato, they were a nice find..it took me a few weeks to research them and wait for them to be delivered at my LFS, so i hope they prosper in my tank and it's water :good:

Awesome looking fish.
I was in my local Dobbies today & they had some very similar looking ones.
I was very tempted, but don't have the space

Nice.

I am always tempted when i see these in my lfs but they are so sensitive, what sort of water you keepin them in ?

Any reason you went for 2 males?

Hi..i live in a soft water area, around the 2/3 hardness mark with the API GH/KH test kit. I combat my low buffering capacity with some cruched coral, which keeps my PH at a stable 7.0. Luckily i do not suffer with any noticeable NitrAtes in my tap water, so my weekly water change regime keeps them at 40-60ppm and below... when i added all these figures up, it was an obvious step for me to take.
I believe, in a tank my size, that the highest chance of any aggression in there would result in a pair of G.R's spawning (if i was able to keep the water parameters where they should be), therefore to continue my peaceful, community theme i opted for a pair of males... but any further advice and/or suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Sounds good, they certainly seem really healthy and colourful so have come from a good source :good:

You dont need me to tell you that they will need their own territories obviously but to me rams (ramirezi) have always been quite docile and peaceful, im just a fan of pairs, enjoy watching the behaviour I suppose. What is the other stocking?

Amazing fish. Its funny my lfs always had gold rams but i never had good enough water to keep them. But now that i bought an R/O unit my lfs never gets them anymore lol. I guess ill just have to live with my electric blue rams and my regular blue rans lol.

Hi...they have already laid claim to two seperate parts of the tank, but what i tend to do is bury a JBL tab into the sand near their respective areas, this then allows my Albino Cory to get amongst it in the vain hope that they do not get too aggressive should any of my other fish venture into those areas.
My latest, up to date, stocking can be found in my signature.

Great looking fish mate, there seems to be an influx of them at the moment of a high standard. Gluck with them

Thank you Tizer.. i had to wait 4/5 weeks for them to come into my LFS, which gave me plenty of time to research them, and so far it seems i'm glad i did!
