I came home today to two things, a dead otocinculus and an egg laden ghost shrimp.

Horrible photo, innit?

I just have a couple questions for you all, regarding the shrimp...

Seeing as how I'm pretty new to shrimp keeping, should I even bother trying to hatch the eggs? Should I remove her regardless? A slightly meaner question: If I decide not to try and do a thing for the little eggs, and she hatches them on her own, and they are eaten by my frogs and the other shrimps, how much do you think they'd foul the water?

I'm really liking owning ghost shrimp, so far. They really are little characters, reminds me of squirrels.

Yesterday, I went to go feed everyone in my 10g. I plunk in a couple betta food pellets that my betta simply won't eat, and one of my shrimps stuffs one in his mouth and grabs one with his 'hands' and runs for the hills. The pellet is tiny, but it sticks out of his mouth like an apple. He skitters over to a leaf and runs up it to the top, and drops the pellet, but he doesn't stop to pick it up, instead he backs up, and with his other legs, rolls it up the leaf so that it follows him to his ultimate throne. He sat himself down on the leaf, and started to turn it in circles in his mouth, chewing the outside. He dropped the other pellet twice on the leaf, and his other legs carefully rolled it around, controlling it. It was great. They're a lot of fun for a fifty cent investment.
