My Fluval 240

After getting my bargin of a life time
I have finally finished happy with it
Stocking is
1 red tail shark
3 dwarf Gouramis 1 male 2 female
12 xray tetra
9 neon tetra
2 yoyo loaches
3 hatchet fish
2 platies
1 bamboo shrimp
12 cherry shrimp
2 green shrimp
all getting on well and no one is getting any hassle
filtration is
fluval 305 and an eheim 2213 both with mature media that had been mature for over 2 years
All plants real
tescos play sand
Around 50% water change every week

Nice layout, you have the same tank as me

Ive only got 1 x 305 however, im looking at adding a second filter how is the Eheim ?

Also your in-lets and outlets for the fluval are at each corner, where do you position your eheim ones ?

Ehiem outlet spray bar at top fluval inlet at bottom
Ehiem inlet at bottem fluval outlet at top at a angle if that makes sense
I like the ehiem nice and quite good litlle filter

Theres also a small internal from my old shrimp cube that I keep running as I'm trying to talk the wife into letting me set up a another betta tank
But 2 tanks is enough apparently

Looking great.
Once the plants fill out a bit it will look even better.
I have just bought the exact same tank from Mattlee off here lol and I am just contemplating what to put in it.
If you get annoying drips of water from the hood edges down the glass it means the top needs to come off for resealing, very easy though
2 tanks is never enough, I have a 25ltr, 35ltr, 90ltr,240ltr, and a 290ltr

I think I get it now, ( sorry for my noobness )

Does the flow from your fluval meet the flow from the spray bar in the middle of the tank ? or do you angle them to try and create a circular clockwise motion ?

I have a small power head in mine but I imagine if I get a second filter I could probobly do away with it.

My tank also leaks down from the hood its left awful white stains that nothing seems to shift.

Yes mate the fluval outlet goes across corner to corner spray bar goes from one side to the other so yes it works I'n a clockwise circulation
White marks on the outside I use mr muscle window cleaner with a bit of course sponge just watch where you spray
