My Fish Won't Die... (with Your Help)

Hi All, I am extremely new to aquariums, had mine for just over 1 month. I currently have 2 Balloon Mollies, 2 Guppies ( 1 is pregnent ) 6 neons, and an upsidown catfish. Hope to continue this excellent hobby.

Quick question, I'm thinking of putting sand in a new aquarium do you think it would be ok to use sand from Lake Superior? Lake Michigan is to polluted.

wouldn't risk it. better off just going to the do it best center there in esky and get some play sand, I am hoping some time to get some silica sand from work and really give it a going over to get the dust out of it but change my play sand in my 55 over to a combo of gravel and sand sorrta like river bed setting. but like I said play sand is way cheaper and better than sand out of the lakes.
