How in the world do you get such nice pics of your Endlers?? All of mine turn out to be little orange and black blurs!

They're quite common in East Asian rice paddies but not as popular in today's fish trade. Elegant fish though

I'm a commercial photographer, so I take lots of pictures of them. When I sit down with the camera they all come over to the glass to get their pictures taken.

Most of my fish pics are taken with a Nikon D3. I switch between the 50mm macro or 28-90mm macro lenses, and couple them to a 36mm Kenko macro tube. I place a flash (sb900) a few feet away from the tank and use a shoot through umbrella to diffuse it, fired with a pocket wizard.


When it comes to taking fish pictures (or any for that matter) patience is the key. It is not the equipment that takes great pictures.

Very true....but a using a D3 doesn't hurt!!
