Yesterday I took my only male swordtail and put him in solitary confinment. Today he looked like he controled his temper. Well its been about 3 hours sence he's been back with his family.

Now hes looks all depresed like he's ether stressed out or tierd. He's laying at the bottom of the tank like he's trying to sleep. Does anybody think he is sick, or just stressed out?

I'd say that he's probably really stressed out about having been moved.
He should learn to behave and then he won't have that problem.
Is he breathing heavy?

As long as no nipping is going on, I have observed male swordies are just very female dominators, and totally normal in behaviour. Feel free anyone to correct me, but this is normal isn't it? :look:

Well bettamomma After writing this phragraph. I started to feed them well he ate the food and then 5 minits later he is moving along the tank like he's jugging! I think he thought he was over weight and got depressed. Now he's getting his exercize and getting fit. Glad to see some fish tank take care of themselves.

He may be stressed from the all the moving around. Also, were the tanks the same temperature? If he gets moved into a different temperature too fast, he could be in shock.

Yes xanthianacid they are very big female dominators. They can't get enough of them. Mine loves his little girlfreind and loves getting her prgnate along with the other females.

I thought the point of putting him in the breeding net was to keep him from breeding your young female until you could move him to another tank?
