My Female Pseudotropheus Saulosi has interal parasites i think. I've noticed she goes up to the top of the tank and just sits there. Sometimes I see her rubbing against rocks and seems really timid and sometimes freaks out for no reason. She just seems different so I think she has some sort of parasite? :/ Also she won't eat or I haven't seen her eat. I've bought some medicine(gel*tek) to use. I need and advice.

Have you seen her poop (if you have is it white)? Does she hide a lot (either in the rocks or near the top of the water)? Does she appear lethargic at all? Not eating is certainly a sign of bloat, which these fish are pretty vulnerable to, and it's usually accompanied by symptoms like those questions.

If it is bloat you'd better set up a med tank asap and begin treating her with a good, strong antibacterial medication like Clout. Then you'll want to inspect the diet and conditions to see why it happened.

If it's not bloat then you can try the anti-parasite medication and see if it helps.

If it's bloat, epsom salt is the trick. Start with 1 teaspoon per 10 gallons, increase by 1 teaspoon daily to 3 teaspoons per gallon. It's ok to use with corys & plecs.

If it is parasites metronidazole is what I use, sold as hex-a-mit or flagyl. 40mg per gallon with daily 50% water changes & remed daily. You can use this medication with epsom salt, I've done it before.
