One of my black skirt tetras has red spots on body near the fin areas, near mouth as well and stays on the top gasping for air. It also has teared fins some cotton white spots near its eyes. Another one has a swollen face region. Please help I don't really know what to treat them for.

Sounds like you have a bad bacteria infection in your tank.
Size of tank in gallons or litres.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrate, nitrate, and ph.

Just want to check that the red spots don't look like a cluster of berries or a cauliflower.

Also get a magifying glass just to make sure you can see no visable parasites on the body of the fish.

Yeah it looks pretty havent had any for few years
Size of the tank is 29gallons, I currently have 3 barbs there and 2 black skirt and 1 neon tetras. Two out of 2 tetras are infected, bards seemed to be fine. My ph is at 7 havent been able to check ammonia and nitrate, I will try to buy a new test kit tommorow. The red spots don't look like cluster of berries or a cauliflower, its more like blood wounds, one fish also had a red back as well. I started using tetracycline last night. What do you you think is the best way to deal with this bacteria.

Thank You

Dave

Sounds like septicemia, tetracycline good but it will wipe the bacteria colony out in your filter.

Hi thank you for you help. Unfortunatly one of my tetras did not make it. I am still figthing for the other one. It has cotton mole on the face region.

yep, sounds like a bad bacterial infection. i'd say start dosing with PrimaFix or Macaryn, but maybe Wilder can give you more insight.

Carry on with the med then, good luck.
R.I.P.
The mole does it have a red circling around it.
