After 2 months and then having had my water checked and given the all clear, I though I was through the vulnerable time for fish deaths. Then last night I found a neon tetra dead on top of the filter (having been sucked through the holes). Washed up!

I know they were all feeding the day before and all looked healthy.

Although I have had goldfish deaths in the past, I haven't had one for a year and they have lived for longer than 2 months.

A sad day, hopefully it was nothing contagious.

 I find neons very tempermental fish to keep. Some are hardy some die easily.

In fact i had a spate of fish deaths a few months ago (platies, danois, plec, neons) it got very very depressing but as soon as all neons died/were removed no more deaths.

In fact now i have a few more fish in again and everything is going superb.

What a wonderful hobbie this is when things run smoothly. :D

Sorry for your loss. :( I've never had luck with Neons so I gave up trying to keep them.

My neons have been ok but I've had trouble with dannios. Currently have a leopard dannio in the "hospital tank because he was swimming strangly so he's got melafix and stresscoat in the tank. Hope he's ok but who knows. :dunno:

I've had okay luck with my tetras. I originally had 5, then that was reduced to 3, then reduced to 2. Then I bought 5 more and now I am up to 7 and they have been wonderful together. I guess it just depends on the fish maybe? or the place you get them from? :dunno:

I no how you feel I lost 2 neon tetra and 2 black neons to filters.

I lost a neon too a week ago  But my other 4 are big and healthy, Ive raised them since they were small.
