Hi

Before anybody asks the plants are asthetic and there is no live objects (YET) in the tank, Colourful and friendly. Hopefully I will be adding few things at a later date once I read upon them.

I would like to show a few piccies of my first Aquarium.

Go by one inch of fish per gallon or one centimeter of fish per litre.

You can find the differend types of fish in the fish species index forum (near the top). I would start with some hardy fish such as Zebra Danios or Barbs.

If you buy a themometer it should have the temperature range for tropical fish indicated.

Hope this helps.

Firstly fill your water line to the brim of the plastic hood otherwise you wont have 84l and it will still be less as manafacturers measur to the top of the glass rather than where the water line will end.

1) all fish vary like discus like 28d+ but your tank is to small keep it around 25deg but research fish first, for there requirements like ph, toleration of any substances/ chemicals. Also research live plants if you keep any.

2) Aim for 1" per gallon (18") as a GUIDELINE, it depends on filtration, water changes etc. Fish size also matters, a 10" fish will create more waste than 10 1" fish.

3) Ask in chat section, do you want community? livebearers, egg layers? would you prefer smaller fish or bigger fish? i wouldn't keep fish that go above 4" in your tank as they will need room to swim end to end, also getting to large fish will stunt growth.

You w2ill need to cycle your tank, if you are fishless cycling then add ammonia, there is a calculator on this forum to know how much to dose. If you are cycling with fish then get some danios, barbs, tetras.

Get 4 Dainos to start off cycle, thats what I did anyway, Nice tank dnt really like the fake plants I like the more natural planted look

Thanks for this information. Will look into this more.

Thanks for this information. Will look into this more. I would be looking for smaller fish definatly and most probably a community tank. I have added around 2/3 capfuls of Nutrafin Water conditioner aqua Plus. I will not be cycling with fish at all and I am looking into around a week or 2 for everything to settle.

Thanks for this comment, the fake plants were put in just because they came with the kit. Once I research some different tank features I will be added a few natural planted looks and some objects for the fish to lay around in.

I am not yet sure what species I will be adding just yet but more research will be looked into once I get this tank off the ground.

Oh beleive me it is! I am 23 and I have been into fish most my life as I used to do course fishing. After finding this forum a year or so ago I had it in my favs and just decided to go buy one. I understand that you wern't been nasty lol afterall there are much more experienced people than me and this is why I would like comments.

I have sat and trawled through alot of the forum threads and found some very passionate and heart warming images! I just am going to be patient and see how it all goes.

Make sure you ask some q's in lanted section, there is a lot to learn about, WPG, CO2, Ferts etc...

Are you on about the plants?

Haha, I love course fishing its my main hobby, Carp FIshing to be precise. My mate caught the local record at some lake, It was a 32LB Mirror I think.

And Fill the water to the top, makes tank look alot better ::p

Carp fishing is good but I would prefer catching bream/tench e.t.c than the odd carp. The local lakes where I live are stocked with alot of bream and tench and carp of around 8lbs. I will fill it to the top. Thanks

Yeah, live ones

Yes, Thanks for this information.

Eww Bream and Tench are the Scum of course fishing:p Tench looks nice but are so slimy :p

This is why I like them! I prefer been active and having a challenge of a big bag of smaller fish than just a few. The reason I say this is in matches I have had say 20lbs of smaller fish and some lucky sod hooks a carp or something like that. P!sses me off cos they ain't worked for the win they just sat there where as lots of smaller ones is a challenge. Anyway any more good information feel free to post as I would love to hear it.

EDIT: I have just added a pic at the end of a full tank of water.

Nice tank. But i think u must i guess the gravel remove these color things.

Yes Nice looks better with water filled up, And i havent had a chance to fish in a match yet hopefully Ill get into one this year sounds fun
