The tank has been running for over a week with no lights, planted for three days, and I have been using EI from that moment. Don`t mind the aquascaping, I have basically filled it with fast growing stem plants as advised. Due to a lot of the plants being bent over when I received I couldn`t plant all of them so the extras were left floating on top for the time being. Hopefully they are still performing the function of fighting off algae.

The Vallis has been pearling from outset, but at the moment the mini Ammania and Echinodorus Tennellus are feeling pretty sorry for themselves. I am really pleased with the Rotala Rotundifolia on the left at the base of the Hygrophilia. The red is starting to become quite vibrant.

Anyway, it is due a 50% water change on Dec 12th which is when I plan to change things around. I suspect some stems of the Hygrophilia Polysperma will need pruning by then. Any advice on what to add or take away woud be greatly received.

Hope my first attempt at posting a picture works. Here goes.

sorry, not working.dont worry,we all did the same lol.i did handstands when i (eventually)got my first pic up.

I used the browse button to find the image on my hard drive, selected add attachment and watched the little green bar move across, the one that tells you your computer is busy. Then...nothing, no image when I reviewed the message and none when I posted. Help!

you need to put your photos on a site like photobucket.then you copy and paste them from photobucket to your post on the forum.

Thanks rixy, that worked. However, I was hoping to be able to post the picture, rather than just the link to it.

you need to use

remove the "."

Ps

Remove the Juwel internal filter, tank will have an extra 5 litres of space and look substantially better ;)

Yeah, the internal filter is a bit of an eyesore, but my budget didn`t extend to replacing it. I`m hoping it will eventually be hidden by the Vallis and some needle leaf Ludwigia.

Nice, I think when the filter is hidden and all the plants are bigger and some of the more better looking plants (not the fast growers) it will look great :) Is that the 3D jewel background? Can I ask where you bought your hygro. pol.?

That is the Juwel background jayjay. I wasn`t sure whether to use it or not, but I had forked out the money so in it went. The Hygrophilia is from Greenline. A couple of the stems have pink veins which look really nice. I may try propogating these to form their own little bush.

What are the dimensions of this tank? Forgot to ask in last post.

Yeah, you can get different variations of hygro. with different colours. I'm hopefully going to get some for my tanks soon.

Tank dimensions are 61cm wide, 41cm deep and 58cm tall. It is fairly cube shaped, narrow and tall. Juwel have only just released it and I reckon it is a real nice looking tank that enables you to fit 120l in to a space smaller than required for other similar capacity tanks
