Ok, today I have loaded gravel etc etc etc into my tank with some water, dechlorinator and are bringing it up to heat (the filter is on as well, might as well.)

The tank is still to get the hood hooked up to an automatic timer for the hood light as my working hours dont make for ideal times to do this manually. For this same reason, im getting an automatic feeder - for when im feeling exceptionally tired and to try and regulate at least one feed a day, maybe both the feeds.

Anyway, although its an empty tank, photos are being uploaded to my bucket already. Whilst sparse, the system has only just started and the water temperature is just 10C - at least we dont need to chill our water for drinks ;)

I opted for only one medium-ish fake log to provide some hidey holes, as live plants are to be put in then thinned out a little, but should provide what is required.

Pics are here:

And this is to be introduced into my profile to make it easier to get updates as I go along in this embarkment.

Always felt that a tank, gravel, heater and filter were a good place ;) you'd be amazed from some of the people I know though.

My work used to have a fresh water aquarium, but 1) the maintence was unbelievable (even before I researched this subject I knew more and offered the basics I knew) and twice the fish were poisened by some ****** putting vinegar in the tank. After the second time, they never restocked. Dont blame them.

I will probably add another air ornament shortly when the air machine comes through and a small number of plants, though I may wait a little over two weeks for this, there is a great/cheapish supplier near here, but whilst he does deliver, I'd like to visit the growing labs first. I would not buy a fish without checking its home tank or the fish first... why not plants?
