Okay, so I go by a yard sale and they got a 10 gal. w/ everything included 4 20$. I wait 4 days after setting it up to let the water filter and whatnot. then I buy m and f guppy and 2 ghost shrimp. the next day I leave 4 2 hours and come back with m guppie wedged between therm. and wall. got him out and he was half swiming half floating 4 an hour and then died. I was worried about temp. going astray or to much ph, ect. but who saw this coming?
your tank is not cycled, have a read through the topics in THIS link, that should help
if you have a test kit then post your results, if not most people highly reccomend API master kits, they contain everything you need and is money well spent when it comes to fish keeping
