1 clown loach
2 red hooks (babies)
2 dwarf gourami (male and female)
4 platties ( 2 ickle tiny baby ones that sprang up by surprise )
1 silver shark

Uhh well first off a bala shark would never harm a clown loach, unless theres a massive size difference.

Both Bala Sharks and Clown Loaches need to be in schools of at least 3. 1 Deffinately wont cut it

I have had a pair of clowns in my tank for about 4 years with no problems..I would stick to a pair and if you notice problems add a 3rd...

but 2-3 should be fine..
