My First Fish In The Tank!

Hi i posted a while back about two plecos and 2 CAE(Chinese A. E.) which i got wrong info from the pet shop for some reason and i took them back last night and got 4 silver tip tetras and 2 flame tetras( i wanted two more but these were the last ones).
Anyway up to now i have

4x rosy tetras
4x silvertip tetras
2x flame tetras
4x checkered barbs

in a tank of 100cmx40cmx40cm.

I want to get as many different kinds of tetras i can find and keep them groups of 4s.

I also want to get 2 otos and 2 panda corys.

How many can i keep safely in a tank of that size?

Hi Chris and to the forum

I know nothing about the Rosy's or Flame's, but I presume that like all Tetras they need to be in larger groups than you are keeping them in currently. I would say it is better to get more of these and the silvertips, than to add lots of tetras in small groups.


It's always better to do some research when stocking a tank so have a look in this section for information on your Tetras and Barbs and here for info on Oto's, Corys and any other catfish.

You should also check out the fish index for more detailed info on your fish or try a google search.

Hi vti-chris to the forum, i also have 2 cae the lfs said they where ok in a community tank another case of sales over welfare of the fish and customer
