should be arriving today.

getting some Pogostemon helferi

quite excited, put in a clay based substrate this weekend and a load of new root tabs (the seachem flourish ones) so hopefully i won't kill it!

not pleased with a lot of the plants i've got form lfs's recently so virtually all of them are coming out, tonight i'll just have my new plant, the cryps and red lilly left, got to find 2 nice bushy stem plants and get a load of them for the back of the tank.

:D

I plan on getting some Pogostemon Helferi fairly soon. I am sure the quality will be A1, but I am interested in finding out how many plants you get per pot.

Dave.

i'll let you know, i was gonna get 2 pots but AE only had 1 so i've got that, will wait and see. It's only for a small area of a 10g though so should be fine!

Its quite easy to propagate, especially in highlight tanks as it produces lots of side shots and things.

I'm just hoping it doesnt die!! Only got 2wpg and can't put anymore on without a massive re design of the whole tank!

From what I know its a hardy plant that will do ok in lower light conditions. Should do fine in 2WPG, why would you want more light!

yeah Ian pointed them out to me from his new bible - the tropica catalogue

they're here now, sat under my desk, resisting the urge to take them out and star playng with them now, figure i may as well leave be until i get home

I brought one tropica pot of Pogostemon helferi a few weeks ago you should get quite a few heads per pot they will be quite tightly pack in. They should be planted individualy and given some space between one another as the will grow more impressive heads if planted this way than right next to each other.

cool thanks for the tip! :good:

I also recently bought Pogostemon helferi from Aqua Essentials along with some other plants. The plants come in wonderful condition and the last time I ordered I recieved it after the next 2 days. Although I still haven't received my recent purchase.

really pleased with this plant, got about 9/10 little plants in the pot, roots were so long it took me bloody ages to get them out of the wooly stuff without damaging them too much!!

Hopefully i'll manage to not kill them.

next mission is a nice robust stem plant that's not gonna be too bothered by a fairly strong flow..... suggestions anyone?

Any photos?

only old ones. i need to give it a week or so before getting any new pics, had to move the crypts and they never like it, they always die off then come back again a couple of weeks later. so it looks a little messy now but it should recover soon enough.

:good:
