I just wanted to show off my very first betta. I've been after one for ages and couldn't resist this little fella in the fish store. The bettas are kept in little boxes on the wall and they all look sorry for themselves (I want to take them all home). I hope he settles ok, he's perked right up since he got into his new home.

I know, they only ever seem to sell blue or red ones. He doesn't have a name yet. In fact none of my fish have names lol

Im sorry to be the pessimist here, but his side of the divider looks really small, how big is it?

That's fine, I'm happy to get advice. The tank is 12x18 and the width is 6 inches. I just compared it to how other tanks looked really. It's no problem to give him some more room :)

Oh, decided on a name too. I'm going to call him Sunspot

well thats 5 gallons which is good BUT I dont think its the right sort of space do to it having more height than anything else

Bettas like to swim, and with more height he hasnt got a lot of swimming space in all honesty

Let's hope he'll be ok for a couple of months until I can get him a new tank for Christmas. I was meant to get a tank just so I can get a fighting fish but my mollie had babies so got a bigger tank for them instead.

Oh he will be fine till then, its not affecting his health, sorry if it sounded that way

its just better for the tank to be longer, rather than have height :good:
