Hi Guys,

Finally had a chance to take a photo of my first aquarium. It's 3 ft, built the hood myself.
What do you guys think of it?

It has a young Black Moor and a young Red and White Oranda.

Thanks :) I don't know whether or not to get a background for it. I think it looks better clear, makes the fish easier to spot. What do you think?

personally i wouldnt put a backround to your tank, asfar as i can see theres not too much going on behind it and the wall color helps with the brightness of the tank.

however if theres a bunch of cables and crap bahind the tanks then id put one.

thats just my opinion though lol

Great! I won't bother getting a background! :) The cables for the light and filters are down one side hidden behind the filter so it doesn't look messy. I just want my plants to grow taller :S

I like backgrounds because they make the fish feel more secure and at home in the tank :good: a bright tank isn't natural for many species and they tend to prefer is darker with a few hiding places. A background would help with that effect.

I love how clean and bright it is!
I personally wouldnt put a background on it as i think it would ruin it just wait for the plants to grow in a bit more or add one or two more. :good:

same

it is true that fish like it darker but if its in a slow or low traffic area they should be fine

Thanks guys. I've added a few plants to the Aquarium and done a bit of rearranging.

What do you think.
