i was just doing my weekly water change but i kept the filter on cause usually i dont go that low.

But then i went lower then the valve that sucks and the motor started gurgling and so i pulled the cord.

then i did my change and put the filter back on but its not giving any signs of working.

i think its the motor for sure.

but to top things off, when i was taking off the filter the plug for the cord went into the water!

i need help quick!

my fish r in a 1 gallon tupper ware with no heater.

quickly!

tell me! :alien:

What brand/type of filter? Usually filters that stop or won't start have an impeller problem. It's usually something just hung up on or wrapped around the impeller or shaft. I have this happen with veggies, little thread like parts get hung around them.

its a aqua clear mini and ill go try that now

ill check back in 5 minutes to tell how it went! :*)

Yep, my Aquaclears always have that happen. You have to plug it in, then stick your hand in where the impeller is and try to get in spinning. Once you get that, add some water, put the intake tube back in, and it should work in a few seconds. :)

At least...that's what always works for me.

I have mostly ac's it's a common thing. The first thing I try when they won't start is sticking a pen down in there to give the impeller a spin. This usually gets them started, though once in a while you do have to pull them apart.
