My Filter Is Overflowing...see Pic

I have a wet/dry filter and one of the sides that is draining the water into the filter is draining it way to fast. When i close it and let it run it just over flows...water is coming in to fast and not going through the filter pad and just overflowing everything. How can i stop this?

In this pic you can see that the left side has more water coming through at a faster rate.

I think you need to add 2xgate valves to your plumbing to regulate the flow both in and out.

Is left gravitational? Did you check the speed of gravitational pull against a known volume like a 1L jug?
