Are you sure it is the female? I've yet to see any of my females chasing after males...

Without more information, I would guess your tank is either too small, or there aren't enough visual barriers for them to get some rest.

With constant attention from the boys, sooner or later the females just go psychotic. Kinda like college...

Try packing the tank with plants to start, and/or add more females to dilute the male's attentions.

Good luck,
/Kris

Yeah I agree with copeina -- can we get some more details about your tank? (Size, how many fish & what types, how many plants & hiding places, etc....)

My one female picked on my male a lot too when they were in the 6 gallon tank -- but now that I moved them into a 20 gallon, she's a lot more laid back :)

Some females are just control freaks *cough cough* I have one that wants to rule the tank ..... It could be a space issue also

I have 2 females in a smallish quarantine tank and one literally rams the other female. Funny thing is, its the smaller one doing the ramming! Hoping to get them into the main tank soon when they have finished their meds. Then I'll have to replace the male that died. I hope it is just a space issue because I like these guys better than the guppies, but wouldn't like to think they are going to beat the living daylights out of eachother

Sounds like you have a psycho female...

Eventually though once fully grown, I have yet to observe female dominating over males... Females do grow quite a bit larger than males.

How big are your fishes?
