My Female Guppy Is Giving Birth And Having Problems.

she's being doing it for about 1-3 hours about today...
she's lying on the rock right now and she gave birth to about 3ish right now
and her bellies still completly round and bullging ish
and i don't know what to do haha..help please!!!
i turned the temperature up 2 degrees already so i don't know what else to do..

My guppy gave birth the other day with the light off when I wasnt home. I was gone about 4hrs and came home and I had a tank full of babies. Maybe turn the light off so she can be in peace.

Best thing to do is to leave her, it could take sometime for labour to finish. Sheesh, I was in labour for 16hrs when I gave birth to my first baby, and this poor guppy has to pop out about 30+ babies, so I wouldnt expect it to be a quick procedure!

I hope she is ok.

i just shut the light off...
and i'm not sure if she gave birth to 5 fry or if 2 more just popped out
but she's always either at the top of the tank in the corner with the heater
or the bottom of the tank in the corner witht hte heater..no where else...
..is it because of the warmth?

I would say so this is where my guppy started hanging out before birth.

And yep having the light off should give her some peace for sure.

I agree she hasn't finished giving birth yet, sometimes they have a few then it can be another day or two before they finish havinig the rest.

okay, because so far that i know of there's only about 5ish
and she's swims a lil for food then goes back to the ground by the heater.

i always heard with a little salt water and the lights turned off they go through labor better. but it does take time. the babies are coming out and swimming and not sitting there still curled up right? do they still have there sacks on the bellies?

Yes salt water helps them to pass it a little easier, but dont put salt in if you have certain catfish.

And my other girl only had 2 babies on NYE and never popped out anymore, so maybe 5 is all she is going to have.
