hi, yesterday i found a baby guppy in my tank but it was eaten by this morning  my female guppy still looks pregnant and i dont know if she will still have babies. also i dont know when this baby was born it could have been a while ago and everyone else got eaten too  does any one know if my female will still be having more babies?

If she still has more fry to drop, her belly will still remain"swollen" and her gravid spot with still be large. When i female are done giving birth, they're noticeably skinnier and their gravid spot is pink( empty now). But after one day she should have had them all. Sure once in awhile i find a fry 3 days later but thats because those little guys sure know how to hide.

Hi fish man2004 :)

Even if you female is finished having her fry, there will always be a next time.

This will happen around 28 days from the time she had these, so you will want to be prepared for them then. You may want to confine her to a breeding net or watch her and catch the fry when you see them and put them into another tank or in the breeding net.

Either way, make sure she eats well and is in good health for when that time comes. :D

Use a turkey baster to catch the fry. It can fit in the tighest corners and you can easily suck the fry up. They don't even expect it. Using a net is just too big and cumbersome.

Only put the mother in the breeder net after you see the first fry. If you put her in the breeder net too soon, she may be too stressed out being confined in there that she may give still births.
