A few years back, before we knew anything about keeping fish properly, we had a male betta in a 2 gal goldfish bowl. Well sometime during the night he jumped ship. we found him in the morning on the livingroom rug, with our 1 year old tom cat licking him. Well we figured he was already gone but when my wife shooed the cat away and picked up the Betta he was still gasping. She plopped him back into the tank (remember we knew nothing, didn't have access to the "net" yet either), a couple of hours he was back to his same old self. Don't know if the cat licking him helped at all, but that was one tough fish.![]()

This guy I know had a fish pond. He also had a fish bowl where he would keep fish fow a few months then let them into the pond. One day he came home and it was lying in the sun and was dry to touch and it was definatly dead, wasn't breathing. He chicked it back into the water anyway. He then came back a few hours later and to his suprisement, it was swimming happily. It is still alive today
