Well I got back from a one week vacation and noticed that my neon tetras (all but one) had disappeared after having them and my pictus for about 1 year now. I thought it was just bad water quality since ammonia was slightly above 0 so they died and were picked at till gone by the other fish. Anyways I waited a week for things to get back to normal and bought 5 more yesterday. I was looking for them this morning when I woke up and could only find 1 of the the 6 that were in there, and looking at the pictus i could tell he was the culprit. His stomach is sticking out about a whole inch and is very stretched and you can even see the indents of the tetras in him. I know it was a stupid thing to add the neons to the pictus but i didn't think it was him because the one tetra is still alive and for some reason he's not attacking him. Now he is in QT in a 10g with the 5 neons in his belly. Is there a way that i can get them out or is he jsut going to naturally pass them or die? I think I'll put him in with my African Cichlids. Its not really an issue where to put him next because I have four tanks. Well thanks in advance for replying!

He will naturally pass them. You dont need to get them out, it isnt like they are still alive. In the wild he would eat fish any way, theese are just store boughtn fish instead. What size tank is you african's in? Also, what size tnak are the neon's in?

he was in a 30g planted with the neons. Africans are in a 55 where all are mbuna. They're the non-aggressive ones compared to Africans but aggressive compared to tropical kinds lik yellow labs and cobalt blues.
