One of my cribs had to go tonight  Hes been swimming badly for a little while now, so I seperated him and tried all kinds of meds but he went downhill badly and couldnt even feed..

He couldnt even swim when I got home and I felt really sorry for him. I have had him 3yrs nearly now, longer than any other.

So had to put my little fella out his misery. It was hell doing it but im sure it was the right thing.

Bye Bye cribby

Awww...I know how you feel, I just lost my oldest Rainbow cichlid this morning. We figured out I'd had him for 4 1/2, almost 5 years. He was the grandson of my original Rainbow cichlids from 2000 and the father of my current two.

At least he went on his own, I didn't have to do anything. Even though I knew it was coming, it was still hard. It was even hard to change my signature line here this morning!

RIP cribby and "Big Guy".

Sorry for you loss...,y girl krib is nearly 2 now.
just out of curioisty how did you end your kribs suffering /?

Thanks for that.
Felt really sad feeding them last night.

To be honest he was nearly dead anyway, only just breathing, but I took him out and hit his head really hard on my bench
I read up about all kinds of things, clove oil...although alot of people dispute it, ice plunging.....again disputed. I just wanted it to end quickly for him.

RIP Cribby. :-(

Sorry for your loss - I lost a bristlenose yesterday eve, about 2 years old.
Horrible isn't it.

Sympathise with you Spooky. I'm sure it was the right thing to do putting it out of its misery

Yeh its crappy. Sorry to hear that borissimo

When I started keeping fish I never thought I would get as attached to them as I have.

A lot of the time they just die and you cant do anything about it, but its a bit worse when you try to cure them and just cant. I know alot of people say stuff it, the medications cost more than the fish, but to me anyway its not about that.

I sympathise with anybody who loses their prized little babies :(

Sorry for your loss... You can have my Kribs...I've got about 40 because they keep breeding and they are to good at being parents... 3 years is a long time to have a fish so it hurts that much more
