My Diy Co2 Has Lasted 5 1/2 Weeks

Hi there,

this is more a comment rather than a question but I made 2 x 2lt bottles of diy co2 using in each bottle 2 cups of sugar and 3/4 teaspoon of bread baking yeast and it has lasted 5 1/2 weeks so far from most of the stuff I have read this seems a long time to have lasted, am I missing something?

Yes, a way of checking how much co2 is in the tank.

Even though it's still going, you don't know how much.

Get a drop checker.

The instructions on the drop checker will claim you need to use tank water. But for scientific reasons I don't actually know you need to use 4 dKH Solution.

Drop checker is the best measurment or you can measure kh and refer to co2 table in my sig

Are you still getting 1 bubble a second?

I run 2 x 2l bottles and have to swap-out one about every 5 - 9 days ( so each bottle lasts between 10 - 18 days) to keep my drop checker lush green in my 20 gallon tank.
