This is the 2sd time they have raised their young , New Pic's will follow..

first off Thank you for your post! Yes i have been raising discus for sometime now on and off, but i do it more so for my love of them then to make any profit. I have sold them in the past which more or lees helps me Pay for the hobby , as just raising them is quite costly not to mention the care that the frys needs is also never ending work , daily water changes etc ..i only let the swimmers stick with the parents for about 2 weeks because i have learnt in the past the many times the parents will eat their own young ..i feed the young the yolk from a hard boiled egg, i manage to get between 6 and 8 the actually make it to a selling age ( around 13 weeks old ) is what i call a selling age< As far as rasing them in a tank with other fish, No and i do not think it would be possible either. My breeders have their own tank with no gravel a ph of 6.5 and i only keep the temp at 85 some bring their temp up to around 88.Congrats!!
Mine have laid four times now but there in a community tank so arent being very successful at rearing them. they have managed to get them to swimmers on the 3rd attempt and they lasted a week but then they disappeared. They are looking after the new clutch... lets see what happens.
Have you managed to raise them to a size that you can sell them then?
Are your breeding pair in a tank with more fish??
