Hi all

I bought a second hand Juwell Rekord 60 and I have been cycling it for 2 weeks now with two Mollies & one Platy, also I have added a Fluval 2 filter to the tank, Ive been testing the water on a daily basis with Tetra 5 in 1 testing strips, the ph is fine and so is the gh, but there has never been any reading on the Nitrite and Nitrates those two always read zero, shouldn't one or both be turning pink by now. I have had a burst of white cloudeness yesterday which I believe is the good bacteria, but the readings are still zero.

any help please

Regards

Mark

the 5 in 1 testing strips in my experience give incorrect results most of the time - and in addition don't measure ammonia.

I bought an API testing kit for £17 delivered on ebay a couple of months back - get one of those :)

Cheers Jonno

Ill get one today, it's just that I never had this problem with my other tank which had a under gravel filter I allways got readings with the Nitrite And Nitrate to tell me when I needed to change the water. I thought as I have two filters running it might be taking longer for it to cycle.
