Hi There

Was changing my tank around at the weekend and took the rare chance to take some pics of my toad fish last time I saw him was about three month ago. Pics are not that good as I was trying out a new camera.

PS Who says GSPs like a change around !!!!! Mine has been sulking since I canged things around. He is sitting in the cave with the cat fish and not coming out.

Hi Jox

That fish I have been told is a butterfly goby as my lfs sold it as a funky goby. When I went and ask at the lfs again they said it is noyt a butterfly goby. So I am not realy sure. Here is a picture mabey someone can say for certain. I was going to post a pics of him anyway as I would like to know.

never done brackish, but your tank is inspiring !! im getting a saturday job at a good aqaurist shop near my home, i may use the money to get a medium sized brakish tank going :)
nice fish, are they
archerfish x 2 ?
2 orange/yellow chromides,
and some gobys ?

i am sorry as i dont know about any of the brackish fish!!

Wow that's a really nice looking setup you've got there! Just thought I'd tell ya. You should contact nmonks and sell some of your pictures for his book. He's looking for pics of archers and brackish tanks.

Hi There

Thanks its real nice to hear that you like my tank. Specially as I only been keeping brackish fish for about 6 month. I 've been keeping Malawis for the last 10 years on and off so I didn't know anything about brackish fish. But people on this forum helped a lot. I wish I had this forum when I started keeping fish. Was lucky so had good lfs in london then. By the way I ve got one archer, one mono, two chromides, two knight gobys, two butterfly gobys ? , one toad fish ( Only see him once in three month), one columbian cat, and one GSP. I am thinking of changing tank to a 350 litre corner tank.
Pufferpro : I have been in touch with N.Monks about the pics.

Thanks

Hi Sabby,

I'm not sure about the goby, but I think it's an Awaous spp. Not Awaous flavus, the candy-stripe or butterfly goby, but one of the other species. The shape is like a Stiphodon though, but they aren't brackish water fish. Anyway, for goby identification (which is very difficult) I'd recommend the Yahoo Goby Group:

That branchy type wood looks good. Is it artificial, I dont like any artificial in tanks but that looks good.

I've not consulted the goby group, but the closest I've got to that goby so far is

F006-Sicyopterus%20Longifilis_jpg.jpg

Sicyopterus Longifilis

I don't think thats the one, but it's the closest so far. What does he look like when displaying?

As for the other, I'm miles off, but the closest I have for him is

Stiphodon phantom

I don't know why I've posted this really, with a single goby group post you're almost guaranteed some fantastic information.

Hi

Thanks for trying to help. My goby looks the same than yours on the photo when displaying but he is a sort of dirty yellow/brownie/greyish stripes. I will find out some how.

Thanks again
