My Cory Won't Lay On The Sand

I just put sand in a few hours ago. the temperature is fine but my cory won't touch the sand he is the only cory that is scared of it but he is pale and so stressed. Was it a bad idea to put in sand and why isn't he ok with the sand?

assuming the sand is inert (ie play sand or silica sand or pool sand) then it's not a bad idea. it sounds like you just added the sand to an existing tank? the stress could be caused by the change in environment.

if the other corys are playing in it then it sounds like this guy is just freaking out because it's different. usually corys love sand, mine went ballistic with joy when i added them to my tank.

the other ones aren,t playing in it they are just laying there but at least they are touching the sand. this one will only touch the decorations.

I'm sure he'll be fine; just give him some time to get used to it
