Last night at around 4:30am i was looking at my tank because i was just about to sleep. everything seemed fine, but then i got a feeling that something was wrong, i went to double check, and i see my favourite cory trapped inside my driftwood. I managed to get him out, his tail was curled up when he was struggling to get out, i help the little cory and it swam out. The problem is that it was swimming funny, almost like it was blind, swimming across the glass and on to one of my caves. I just hope that he wasted all her energy while she was struggling and not blind. I was afraid she was gonna die, but this morning, she was at the spot where she always sleeps, so she isnt blind..or else how would she be able to find that spot? Is there anything i can do to help her heal? :-(

she is proberbly shocked.Does she have any obvious injuries to the body or fins and is her gills working properly.

her gills are working properly, her fins are ok too, but there arnt any OBVIOUS injuries. I hope she is ok..i was afraid that the wood chips in the hole stabbed her eye or something :-(

she could have damaged her internal organs if she was crushed.........she sounds like she can see but even if she cant she wont be TOO affected.I know afew blind fish that are fine

i've also noticed that around the eye, there is alittle white...pale..

maybe i should've posted this in the emergency forum

is it cloudy or fluffy, does it lok like the eye is popping out?
i think you should ask in the emergencies you might get more help.good luck

I have a very small Albino Cory who somewhere along the way lost both his eyes. He was at the LFS and I felt sorry for him. He was in the tank all by himself with no other Corys (I guess no one wanted him). They let me get him for next too nothing and I put him in my tank with the other 4 I had, and he seems very happy. Hes growing and is constantly following around the bigger Albino Corys. He seems to have figured out where every thing is, by instinct I guess...

hmm, i just check up on her, and she was swimming normal, so i fed her some food and she looked very hungry, maybe it's cause of her struggling last night, i did notice that she is damaged, on her gill...plate? i hope there isnt any infections, cause if there arnt she is going to live for sure :)

I dunno - but I would put some water conditioner in (the stuff with aloe vera) if she appears to have non -specific injuries.

The aloe vera supposedly coats the fish to help healing and also is supposed to help with stress.

add some stress coat and meilfiz and watch her closely for any other problems.
