My Community Planted

LOL

cracks me up when peeps come up with these random "over stock" statements, and especially your "re home some fish" ha ha and you're also a bit cocky calling Dane blind, altho i guess its a joke!!!

EDIT: sorry, no offence, you entitled to your opinion. I know where your coming from, high stocking levels can often lead peeps to pressing the "you is overstocked" button!!! and sometimes rightly so, perhaps you even right here, i dont think so, but you never know. I keep an open mind.

i am sure in some peoples minds its over stocked (including experienced fish keepers) and also in some equally experienced fish keepers minds as evidenced from this forum and other forums, the tank is heavily stocked but not "problematic" or "horribley over stocked" in fact i have received some good comments, not just on pics, but on stats and maintenance of tank and also the plant growth factor.

Its partly why i went into some detail about describing the stats and stuff at the beginning, still have your view of it being over stocked, fine, i can live with that, but i am not just starting out in fish keeping, lots to learn still, but at a level where i feel i can manage this set up and provide these fish with a good environment.

I did read your thread on the basics of fish keeping Discus Lover, a good effort, but personally i totally disreagard the 1" per gallon rule, well i dont "totally" i guess, i just dont pay much attention to it, focus more on water readings, fish health and behaviour etc,

Yep. It's just a general rule, it can be bent like most... Anyways, it just looks really over-stocked. My opinion thats all. BTW, that opinion wasn't really that random. ;)

Tank looks amazing with all those plants!
There's nothing wrong with that stocking level to me, fish are healthy, have tonnes of room to swim about, and stats are great! Since you have lot's of small shoaling fish, it's better to have such a stocking density IMO. My tank has higher stocking (or will when my fish grow ) anyway.

I'd love to be able to achieve that look, but I have destructive fish that would never allow that many plants to flourish  .

thats very kind of you, those comments, thanks

it means even more, considering my pics really dont reflect how great i think tank looks (some pics you kind of get the feeling thats it looks nice) but as i get better with digi cam i will post more, i been trying to get a livebearer community tank to look like this for a long time!

I really recommend this size if you can get if for this type of set-up, like i said its 48" long, 24" high and 18" depth,

i actually wanted a full 4x2x2 but i wasnt sure if the make shift stand could take it!!!!

I also like the tank, very colourful and lively looking.
