I can only guess at age I bought him off a girl via ebay bout 18 months ago, hes grown a fair bit but not as much as one I owned about 13 yrs ago I wondered whether lack of meat diet affected the growth.

He's about 13 inches I think maybe a little bigger he looks very graceful though when patrolling the tank

Very nice specimen Simon :good:
Is that a BGK i see in the fourth picture?

It is Davo one that is for sale as it happens took it off a mate about 6 months ago, nice fish acually just deserves to be in a tank dedicated more to him, he's fine with oscars and Clown

thanks, interesting to know they get on together,

I've just ordered in an "asian knife" from our supplier at work, and they have sent us a stunning Royal Clown knife, that is about 8-9" and is feeding well,
so tempted but i know its eventual size means i'd need another upgrade

they are beautiful fish the Royals!!! lol Pier seem to always have them in

asI say no issues at all with the clown and the other fish in the tank, levels of which I;m trying to reduce. I know he's capable of eating a load of them but he doesn;t seem to bother with them

Haven't seen an Asian knife before, i like the African knife fish but they don;t seem to be readibly available. Shame really as they're better sized than the ghost knife and clown knife for the normal aquarist without a large tank.

The Clown knifes are asian knifes,

on the listing it simply said Asian knife - £24.99, so i was presuming it would be your standard Clown knife

Ahh i've never heard them refered to as that. Always learning stuff on here. Although it go's to show scientific names are the way forward. just shame they make them so hard to spell and remeber.,
