My Cichlid collection keeps on Growing!!

Now that I have a third tank and have moved a lot of my fish around, I found myself with an empty(ish) looking 55g so I went of to the LFS in search of a new fish friend to occupy the space.
I spotted a tank of juvenile Blue Acaras, and since I wanted one a while ago but didn't have space, thought I'd get one.
Anyway here he is (BTW if anyone can tell if he/she is male or female, I'd like to know!!)

yup, thats a TIger Barb!!! I'm hoping that since the Acara is young and smaller than the barbs at the moment, it won't get aggressive with them as it gets older!!

What tankmates are you keeping him with?


I really like these fish, but mine is constantly being beaten up by his tankmates half his size. He only ventures out of his clay pot to feed. Stunning fish though. Very bright compared to my big guy.

He's with 8 tiger barbs who I have never seen bother any other fish except themselves!!, 3 Clown Loaches, and a couple of smaller plecs. Hopefully should be OK with that lot!!
