My Buddies Crazy Setup

1 oscar (was big but traded it for a baby)
2 firemouths
1 green terror
2 electric yellows (very small)
1 fairly large jack dempsey
70 gallons

i swear he is nuts with this set up but i was just wondering what you guys had to say about it

No way it can work... yellow labs are way too passive to be in this tank.. The green terror is going to kill everything in that tank...

thats what i thought origionally there was 3 firemouths one died cause the other iggest one chased it and bullied it till it died, its just gonna be pure chaos, there arent even that much hiding places, ive told him hahahaha, they are all young so thats the only reason its kinda working

Take a look at my fish list in my signature. You know what people used to tell me? Still tell me? No way it can work, you're crazy. Know what? Not only is it working, it's working beautifully!! I wonder how many times I heard, that Melanochromis auratus will kill everything in your tank. Hasnt happened yet Green Terror is actually the next fish I had planned on adding.

It might be working, but it's not best for the fish. Angel fish thrive in soft water where the other cichlids thrive in hard water. It might be working, but my goal is for a stress free tank. Are your fish all full grown?

SG-1, just because it seems to be working doesn't mean it really is. Also the bala you have there school fish and he would be much happier if he had a buddy. Don't take this reply the wrong why its just my thinking.

Well, this particular tank has been established for 3 years, If something bad was going to happen, I imagine it probably would have happened already. I do agree about the bala though, I was thinking about getting another, I had 3 in my previous tank, years ago, the RTS killed 2 of them. The last surviver is now too big for the RTS to bother him. Anyway, I moved the last Bala, the RTS, and the angel into the new 125g tank 3 years ago and added all the cichlids, Ive had no problems ever since, gotta love it!

The labs do better in groups too, but I'm not going to stress anything because you know more than everyone...
