well i am new to to this whole fishtank business well a few days ago i bought a blue crayfish its burryed itsself a little home underneeth my heater so its quite happy the only things i am worried about is

well it keeps trying to esape all the time it has once already it took me 1 hour to find in underneth a cabanet it was a bit dusty but when i poped it back in its seems to be fine no harm done i just want to know is something soo badly wrong that i wants to get out .. i have a 30g tank and its only a baby

seondly i just want to know how often it will molt i hear that u are ment to leave the moulted skin/shell in because it will eat it , and i want to know ruffly how big it will grow to and when the molting will start to slow down it hasent molted yet but i have only had it about three days :p

also i hear u are not ment to put it in a tank with other fish .. such as catfish.. but i have two catfish in the same tank and they basily sleep together like one big family and the crayfish dosent seem to bother

secondly i want to know how often i should be feeding it right now i am feeding it about three times a day i feed the other fish as well

i have a
pictos catfish
channle catfish (i hear they grow quite big)
angle fish
and 10 algay eating snales.. (will my crayfish eat them?)

thanks

Rehome catfish and angelfish because its not good tankmates for blue lobster when its grown up. Channel catfish will eat crayfish when its moulted as their majority diet is crawdad in the wild. That is why your blue lobster escaped from your tank because there is predator inside the tank.

Full grown blue lobster will eat or tear up their tankmates into pieces.

Pictus catfish can grow big but I don't know how big they get. But I do know how big is channel catfish as they can reach 50 pounds and are very aggressive. So 30 gal is too small for both catfish. How tall is your tank? Just make sure its enough tall for angelfish when it is grown up.

its only 40cm tall but i will be rehomeing them all to a 250g tank soon :p.. and thanks for the help i never knew about the channle catfish :p
