My Bettas are odd

Recently, I put up a divider in my 5 gallon, so I could stick both bettas in the tank, as I will only have one more tank when I get Synirr's bettas. Now, appearently, both of them must've thought there was a female on the other side. So they both built these huge buble nests! Than, some how they figured out Males were in both sides, so they got mad and destroyed the buble nest. It was really funny to watch.

Maybe your bettas were building bubblenests to "compete" with one another I know when I first put my 2nd betta-Freddy next to my 1st betta, Bruce..Bruce made tthis enormous bubblenest the next day ..It was kinda surprising since Bruce wasn't really much of a bubble nest builder..Now he is always building one..lol Sometimes he'll stare at Freddy and Spikey for a while before building his nest(Bruce is in a 10 gallon and is able to swim up and look down on the other 2 fish's 2.5 gallon tanks)Sometimes he'll even swim back and forth stare at the other fish and blow bubbles..stare again and blow some more..lol. He's such a cute little stalker..hehe I think its their way of saying.."I'm better..I'm more macho ect"
